Google Ads for Shopify stores, feed first
Most of what Google shows a shopper comes straight from your product feed. So we fix the feed before we touch bids, and we keep branded search in its own lane, where it can't pass itself off as growth.
Included in every tierextra channel$700/mo

Feed first, then campaigns
Merchant Center is where a lot of Google spend goes wrong quietly. Before we build or restructure anything, we go through it line by line.
- Titles
- Rewritten so the words people search for appear early. "Stoneware mug, 12 oz, speckled oat" beats "The Morning Mug."
- GTINs and identifiers
- Filled in or correctly marked as custom, so products aren't held back.
- Product types and custom labels
- Tagged by margin, price band or hero SKU, so campaigns can be split on what actually matters to your P&L.
- Disapprovals
- Every flagged product listed with the reason and the fix, then resubmitted.
Then the campaigns. Shopping and Performance Max asset groups are split by margin or by hero products, and your brand terms are excluded from Performance Max so it can't take credit for people who were already searching for you.
Branded search gets its own line
Someone typing your store's name into Google was probably going to buy anyway. Branded campaigns still matter, since competitors bid on your name, but they shouldn't be mixed into the numbers you use to judge growth.
So branded search runs separately, with its own budget cap, and it's reported on its own line. The number we watch is non-branded spend and the share of orders from new customers.
Every week
- Search terms reviewed, negatives added.
- Performance Max placements and search themes checked, exclusions added.
- Feed errors and disapprovals checked.
- Branded spend checked against its cap.
What we skip
We don't let Performance Max generate a wall of auto-assets and call it creative. And we won't report branded conversions as if they were new demand.

Google Ads questions
Do you use Performance Max?
Yes, once the feed is in decent shape and your brand terms are excluded from it. Without those two things, it tends to spend on people already searching for you. You'll see exactly how spend splits between campaign types each week.
We don't have Merchant Center set up. Is that a problem?
No. Setting it up and connecting it to Shopify is part of setup. It does take a few days for Google to review a new feed, so Shopping won't be live on day one.
Whose Google Ads account is it?
Yours. If you already have one, we're added as a user. If you don't, we set it up in your name with your card on file. If we stop working together, we remove ourselves and the account and its history stay with you.
Does Google count as one of my channels?
Yes. Search, Shopping, Performance Max and YouTube inside one Google Ads account count as one channel.
Will you run YouTube ads?
If you have video that suits it, yes, inside the same account. Producing new video is a separate cost, priced as UGC on the pricing page.
